The Exo Terra Halogen Basking Spot is a heat bulb specifically designed for reptiles, utilizing advanced halogen technology that produces more heat and light and has a longer lifespan compared to traditional incandescent bulbs. The extra heat and light provided by halogen bulbs make them particularly beneficial for diurnal reptiles that require plenty of sunlight.
The primary function of this bulb is to generate deep-heating Infrared A (700-1400nm) and Infrared B (1400-3000nm) wavelengths that simulate natural sunlight and enhance the basking benefits for your reptile.
Ectothermic reptiles rely on external sources such as the sun for warmth, as they are unable to produce their own body heat. They utilize this heat energy to maintain their bodily functions, digest food and stay healthy. Therefore, heat lamps are necessary to provide the heat required by reptiles.
This bulb does not produce UVB.
