About Dubi Deli
We’re not a reseller — we’re the breeders. Our roots go back to the early 1980s keeping reptiles, and to 2005 breeding bearded dragons and raising Dubia roaches as a better staple feeder. In 2008 we launched Dubi Deli, now one of the earliest and longest-running large-scale Dubia roach farms in the world, to share our U.S.-bred insects with keepers nationwide.
Our Story: Where It All Began
In 2005, while breeding bearded dragons, we began raising Blaptica dubia to solve the problems crickets couldn’t: poor longevity, inconsistent nutrition, and unreliable supply. It quickly became clear that the reptile market needed a healthier, more dependable staple feeder than what was commonly available at the time.
Within two years we shifted from reptile breeding to building a dedicated feeder-insect operation, and in 2008 that work became Dubi Deli. From there, Dubi Deli grew into one of the earliest and longest-running large-scale Dubia roach farms in the world. In those early years we also helped establish modern Dubia size standards by introducing a system of nine distinct Dubia roach sizes, giving keepers predictable, reliable options that are still widely used across the industry today.
Why We’re Different
At Dubi Deli, we control every step — breeding, feeding, and packing — under one roof in the USA. We do not import, do not outsource, and do not resell. That means cleaner insects, consistent nutrition, and complete traceability from our racks to your reptile.
- U.S.-bred, in-house colonies: biosecure systems for health and consistency.
- Proprietary nutrient-rich diet: developed over years to produce plump, highly digestible feeders.
- High meat-to-shell ratio: supports easier digestion and better nourishment for insectivores.
- No middleman: you’re buying directly from the source that raises what it sells.
Nutrition & Breeding Standards
Our husbandry is engineered for consistency and animal health:
- Precisely managed temperature and humidity profiles by life stage.
- Balanced feed formulation and hydration practices for growth and gut health.
- Careful breeding density and lifecycle ratios for robust, uniform insects.
- Strict cleanliness and biosecurity to protect colony health.
Shipping & Live Arrival
We’ve shipped live insects nationwide for over fifteen years. Orders are packed for the season to arrive alive and healthy. We include extra insects in every box to cover minimal natural loss in transit, and if anything isn’t right, we make it right — your pet’s health comes first.
“When I couldn’t find feeders that met my standards for my own dragons, I started breeding my own. That experiment became a passion — and that passion became Dubi Deli. We still raise every insect we sell right here in the U.S., because that’s the only way to guarantee the quality your pets deserve.”

About the Founder
Rob has been involved in the reptile world since the early 1980s and has kept a wide variety of reptiles over the years. After getting his first bearded dragon in 1993 and beginning to breed them in 2005, he introduced Dubia roaches into his own care and saw firsthand how much better they performed than traditional feeders.
Rob holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer & Electrical Engineering from Purdue University (West Lafayette) and spent more than 20 years as a senior ASIC design engineer at Intel, working in micro-architecture, architecture, RTL design, and system-level engineering, and contributing to 20+ U.S. patents. He has also worked as a prototype engineer, using 3D printing, CNC machining, and custom tooling to turn ideas into functional hardware.
Today, he applies that same engineering mindset to Dubi Deli — designing nutrition programs, breeding environments, and workflows that prioritize consistency, cleanliness, and animal health. The goal is simple: give keepers a feeder they can trust, backed by decades of experience in both reptiles and engineering.
