The Zoo Med Desert UVB & Heat Lighting Kit is essential to ensure the good health of desert reptiles as it provides heat, UVB, and bright white visible light.
This kit includes:

- Repti Basking Spot Lamp (75w)
- ReptiSun 10.0 Mini Compact Fluorescent (13w)

Instructions for Use:
Screw the bulbs securely into the socket and plug in the cords into the outlets or timers as necessary. Test the on/off switches to ensure that the bulbs turn on. Position the fixture on top of the mesh screen covering your terrarium, making sure it is above the basking area on either the extreme right or left side of the enclosure to create an optimal temperature gradient.
This lamp works best with small terrariums 8-12" tall for desert reptiles with lower UVB needs.
Ectothermic reptiles rely on external sources such as the sun for warmth, as they are unable to produce their own body heat. They utilize this heat energy to maintain their bodily functions, digest food and stay healthy. Therefore, heat lamps are necessary to provide the heat required by reptiles.
To ensure that your pet is receiving the correct temperatures, measure the temperature using the Zoo Med ReptiTemp Digital Infrared Thermometer at their basking area.
